Google Apps Script Custom IDE: Enhancing the Development Environment for Google Apps Script
Google Apps Script Custom IDE is a Chrome extension that adds functionalities to the Google Apps Script development environment (IDE). Developed by Rubén Sánchez, this project aims to continuously improve the IDE by incorporating feedback from other developers.
The extension currently offers several features to enhance the development experience:
- A list of approximately 63 themes to customize the Google Apps Script editor's appearance.
- Custom icons for easier identification of file types.
- Integration with the JHINT library to validate JavaScript and Google Apps Script code syntax. Although initially planned to display error or warning information on the same line, the editor already provides a breakpoint functionality for code debugging.
- For those who prefer to hide code blocks to navigate more easily within extensive files, the extension allows the option to show or hide code blocks using the keyboard shortcut: Alt + Q.
- Lastly, the extension provides code autocompletion for JavaScript.
